Parody by NatalieL (2020)

Wasting

My inspiration for my Parody Song Production was the song "Wish" by Diplo. A few weeks ago, this song was blasted with the windows down when I went on a late night drive with my friends. Now, everytime I listen to this song I remember that memory. Using Pro Tools helped me grow as an artist, because I now know how to use the basics of Pro Tools to alter sounds and music. Something I struggled with while using Pro Tools was getting it to run on my PC. I couldn’t get Pro Tools to start on my PC and I had to uninstalled and reinstalled all the files 3 times. At one point I deleted half of my games on my PC on accident. My teacher also had trouble figuring out exactly what the problem was, so I switched over from my PC to my laptop. It took a while to redownload everything on to my laptop, but Pro Tools did open. I also had a problem where there were no more room on my disk, so I had to delete most of the adobe apps I had installed to make room. If I had more time with this project, I definitely would have made my voice deeper, added weird sound effects, and try A cappella for some parts. The British accent was my favorite part of the project. I saw my British friend the day before I made this, and I couldn’t help myself but to imitate her accent. We both love her accent and she doesn’t take offense to it. I will use the skills I learned in Pro Tools to add music and sound to the background of my future animations. If I were to ever use foley in the background of my animations, I would probably use Pro Tools. This project changed the way I see other’s art by showing me how much you can do in Pro Tools. Knowing that other artists took this software and created amazing art with it is astonishing.
